River's Edge supports missions throughout the world, including the AFL Bible School.
AFL Bible School
It is not unusual for a teen who has completed high school to be at a loss regarding the next step he or she should take in their life.
Many go to college or start down a particular career path because there doesn't seem to be any other alternative. The AFL Bible School
(AFLBS) is not only another option, but an opportunity for a young person to build a strong foundation in biblical knowledge, faith
development, and spiritual formation that will be a lifelong asset for discerning the will of God, making moral choices, and choosing
a godly life of work and service to others.
AFLBS offers a two year, college-level school of the Bible that is combined with serving, traveling, extra curricular activities, music,
athletics, and mission opportunities – all in an environment where Christ is central to the life of the school and student body. It is a
unique and awesome concept to spend two years studying the word of God and serving the Lord and his church before venturing off to a university,
career, or marriage.
AFLBS is located in the western suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, and is a ministry of the 270 churches that make up the Association
of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), a voluntary fellowship of congregations that is centered in the word of God and the freedom of the Holy
Spirit (http://www.aflc.org).
