Beliefs

God
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Bible
We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the complete written Word of God and has been preserved and illuminated for us by the Holy Spirit for our salvation and instruction. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and inerrant Word and is the only authoritative source and norm for Christian life, faith, and doctrine.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God's one and only Son, that he is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. In him the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and without him nothing was created that has been created. He taught and lived the truth, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven where he is our High Priest and Advocate. We believe that his death on the cross secures the forgiveness of sin for those who truly believe in and submit their lives to him and that his resurrection is the only assurance of everlasting life.

The Holy Spirit
We believe that through the Holy Spirit, God gives himself to us in the most intimate way possible. Jesus promised that he and the Father would send the Holy Spirit to comfort us, dwell in us, teach us everything, remind us of all he had said, convict us of sin, lead us to righteousness, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

The Church
We believe that the church is God's creation by the blood of Christ and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to be a visible instrument of his mercy and truth through a living community that proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ and lives in communion with him. We believe that the church is to be a community dedicated to the Word of God, prayer, worship, holiness, mutual encouragement among believers, and a loving and bold witness to those who have yet to believe. We believe that the church is the bride of Christ to whom has been promised salvation and eternal life.

Water Baptism
We believe that water baptism is an act of surrender to the grace of God in Jesus Christ. It signals one’s commitment to Christ as Lord and Savior and is the gateway to a life of discipleship and servanthood in the name of Jesus. We believe that water baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus' command in Matthew 28 and a public affirmation of one’s faith and intention to follow him.

Holy Communion
We believe that holy communion is a gift of God and is commanded by Christ Jesus to unite us in forgiveness and love to himself and other believers. We believe that the body and blood of Christ are present in the elements of communion as promised by our Lord. Even though it is beyond our comprehension to completely understand this mystery, we base our faith and belief on the words and promises of Jesus and a great body of scripture (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20; John 6:53-58; 1st Corinthians 10:16; 1st Corinthians 11:23-25, 29).

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and we believe that, while it is possible for the baptism of the Holy Spirit to occur in and with one's water baptism, it is a distinct and separate event. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is necessary for one to be born again and to walk in the full authority, empowerment, and kingdom dominion that has been granted to those who have given their lives to Christ.

The Return of Christ
We believe in and anticipate the return of Jesus Christ. Though we don't know the day or hour, we joyfully proclaim his gospel and serve him until he returns to receive his bride, the church, into eternity and everlasting fellowship with himself.
