Facedown
On the second and fourth Tuesday nights of each month River’s Edge has a mid-week service called Facedown at 7:30 p.m. In order to understand
why the service is named "Facedown," take a look at these scriptures from the Bible.
Numbers 20:6
Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them.
Luke 17:11-19
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met
him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves
to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He
fell facedown at Jesus' feet and thanked him - and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" Then Jesus said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has made you well."
Matthew 2:1-2, 10-11
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, during the time of King Herod, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who
has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him." When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great joy.
On entering the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother and fell facedown and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and
presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.
Here's the point. It is good and important for God's people to get facedown before the Lord to worship and glorify him! He is worthy of our
praise and deserves our thanksgiving!
Tuesday evening Facedown services are led by our worship team and pastor. They feature a deeper time of prayer and worship. All are welcome
from our church and community!
